The experience
A chord gathers around you. A melody crosses the room.
Sound passes from singer to singer, changing direction and density as voices join and fall silent. The listener's position shapes how these patterns are heard.

Composing with the room
The room is part of the instrument.
Distance, resonance and echoes give the work a different character in each venue. The composition brings the directness of the human voice into contact with the acoustics of the performance space.

How sound moves
The score assigns musical events to positions in the grid. Diagonal sweeps, ripples and shifts between individual voices become audible paths through the room.

A score for each singer
Sync, developed by Lucio Cavallari, sends each singer their part and visual cues on a phone. It coordinates the ensemble while keeping the focus on the voices.

Four movements, four composers
Four distinct voices within one continuous 45-minute work.
The guest composers each write one of the first three movements. Lucio Cavallari composes the final movement, the spatial structure, the electronic and ambient layers, and the transitions between movements.

A longer-term vision
A starting point for new collaborations in spatial music.
Our ambition is to bring professional artists and local choirs together through workshops, residencies and performances across Västra Götaland.
Looking further ahead, we hope to develop a shared spatial audio laboratory: a place for composers, choirs and researchers to rehearse, experiment and create new work. These are possibilities to develop with future partners.
